Géosport, SIG application for sport acitivities in Ardèche and Drôme (France)

GéoSport was made to manage Areas, Sites and Routes for sport practices. It was a common project between departments of Drôme (www.sports.ladrome.fr) and Ardèche (www.ardechesports.fr).

With Geosport, we demonstrate our leadership in France in the field of open air sports.

Nicolas DUPUY, Géosport project manager, Department of Ardèche.

It is adapted from our module  Aricie.HTMLMapMaker (see Modules). It deals with cartography and allows the generation of SVG maps as well as importation of legacy files from specialized applications such as MapInfo and ArcView.

The operating forms are dynamically produced by Aricie.DynamicForms module. The whole application is developed and managed under ARICIE.Net architecture which relies on DotNetNuke, PowerDesigner, LLBLGen Pro and SQL Server.

This application offers management/inventory functions for spots where sport can be practiced. it also allows decision support functions for the classification of areas, sites and routes. It overlaps information such as environmental measurements in order to take the best decisions for site classification.

The stake of this collaborative GIS (geographical information system), which involves several partners (department councils in this case), is to provide users with the ability of spatializing themselves their data. For this purpose, the application supports data spatialization and analysis.

Released on September 2007, Geosport was a success. We today have the pleasure to make it available for a professional and commercial use. Contact us for more information!
