Hi,
I've searched the entire website and then even purchased a subscription assuming there must be instructions somewhere that say how to create a zip full of of images from a PDF for the Page Flip module. It's not going to work to manually screenshot every page. I've looked at lots of PageFlip creation applications online already.. does one of them create suitable files easily?
I have a 64 bit server so I understand I can't upload a PDF directly - Will it ever be able to work on 64bit?
In the meantime, how does everyone create books from PDFs for this?
Thaks for any info on this, Rob
 Hi Rob,
PageFlip doesn't allow you to convert a PDF in a ZIP File.
If you can configure on your 64bit server, your ISS Application Pool in 32bit mode you can download the 32bit version of the module and use PDF import.
If you can't, use the 64bit version. You will be able to import a book from a ZIP file (with JPG files in) created by yourself.
If you still have problems, send your email adress at support@aricie.fr, we will send you back a video demo.
Thanks for your patience,
Aricie Team
Hi, thanks for the prompt reply.
I understand that the module doesn't convert a PDF into a zip of images. I'm asking how does everyone do that? Obviously everyone using this module will need to do that at some point, so there must be a good way to do it?
Regardless of the above, my server does run the app pool in 32 bit mode so I tried using the 32 bit module again and this time I was able to make it work. Part of the problem is that is says 'Conversion du fichier PDF' and does nothing, so I clicked the link underneath after a bit and it kept reporting 'an error occured' with no clues in the logs as to what it was.  I assumed it was because my server is 64 bit.
In any case... now it works (hooray!) - I have uploaded and created a book from a PDF, so that's great. The trick is to just sit there and wait long enough and eventually it finishes. The other trick is to enable image resizing in the settings before beginning. I also un-ticked all the options on the upload page.. not sure if that mattered.
So, my next question is - The converted PDF doesn't seem to have the zoom button when displayed as book in the module. It is unreadable without being able to zoom in. If I make the player big enough to read without zooming, then it will be way to big. I'm desperately hoping you're not going to say that it doesn't zoom uploaded PDFs now that I'm so close to success?
Thanks for any further advice on this, Rob

Actually... after messing around a bit more, the large files seems to have been picked up and now the zoom button has also appeared. Great stuff!
I have a few suggestions. The premise is that the module is not used by a site administrator, but is used by someone with just module-edit permissions, and so the first two suggestions are important.
I'll get back to playing with it some more now. This is looking quite good :)
