    Hi,

I'm trying to evaluate the Aricie Lucene search module on a DNN6 site. The installation went very smoothly, and apart from the documents not quite matching the current DNN version, I was able to follow all of the instructions OK. Very smooth, quite slick.

The problem is that no matter what I enter as a search term, I get NO results - Every search, no matter how simple, just gives "Your search did not match any documents".

I've been back into Host/Search Admin and reindexed the content; I've checked for searches that should be in content in the Wiki module and for content that should be in the HTML module.

Indexing content settings has Forum, HTML and Wiki all checked, as does Query Settings.

    All suggestions much appreciated.

    Best regards

    Dave.

      Hello David,

Maybe there is a problem with a module version on your website. To investigate, please edit the Indexer Settings and check the "Trace Indexing in Event Log" checkbox under the Indexing Settings tab. Then edit your event viewer so it displays the Debug Info logs (under Manage > Edit log settings)

After these changes, you should see the indexing process detailed information under the Event Viewer, including what documents were indexed, updated, etc. Could you please check if LuceneSearch finds documents? If it does, the problem may be on the querying side; could you please detail what the result settings are configured to?

In particular, language can be a problem if not configured correctly. Could you tell us if the Apply Default Language Filter is checked under Result Settings > Querying Settings?

      Best regards

      Samy

Him Samy, thanks for the help.

"Trace Indexing in Event Log" is unfortunately grayed out in the evaluation version.

"Apply Default Language filter" was not set; setting it and re-indexing seems to have improved things a little; I'm now getting content from HTML modules, but still nothing from the Wiki, even when doing a simple single-word search.

This unfortunately is crucial - the main interest in the module is to allow word1 AND word2 searches in the Wiki.

Best regards, and thanks again for the help,

        Dave

Sorry about the grayed log option, that's a problem we overlooked. II'll let you know as soon as i've had time to correct this.

I have just checked our module with the wiki (v4.5.0 installed with the DotNetNuke 6.1.1) and it looks like its working without any problem. Could you please send us an export of the configuration file that is created with the Manage > Export Content for the module? Or alternatively give us access to the page with a custom user account?

Edit: can i send you directly the corrected trial version of the assembly via email; you can overwrite the assembly directly in your bin folder if you have access to it to activate the logging.

          Best regards,

          Samy

            Hi Samy,

I've just checked with the site owner, and since the site is not yet (quite) live, I can get you an account with Portal Admin rights. I'm unable to post the login details in public forum however. If you could contact me as david_biggins@usermgmt.com I can get you the login details.

I can't thank you enough for your help on this!

            Best regards

            Dave.
